it would create a hardship both on the omers and on the German Firms concerned, one because his lease had been suddenly determined which if the cancellation had been postponed a little would have remained valid, and the other for being deprived of his offices for similar

It would seen that no question of cancellation can be taken into consideration without also taking into

consideration the length of hostilities and the latter is a thing it is impossible to form a substantial conclu- sion upon.

Should the question of cancellation of these leasea by legis- lation ever develop into a question for serious consideration, our clients would desire to be given ample notice thereof with a view to making such representations on the matter to the Government as they may wish.
